TownPin.ie Named Finalist in Two Categories at Prestigious Eir business Chambers Ireland Awards 2026

TownPin.ie was nominated as a dual finalist in this year's awards.

Local Dundalk innovation TownPin has been shortlisted as a finalist in two categories at the Eir business Chambers Ireland Awards 2026 — one of Ireland’s most respected and longest-running national business awards programmes.

Now in its 14th year and headline sponsored by Eir business, the Chambers Ireland Awards celebrate excellence, innovation, leadership, and impact across Irish businesses of all sizes. The awards attract entries from organisations nationwide and feature a rigorous, independent judging process by industry experts and business leaders. Being named a finalist is a significant national achievement in itself, recognising TownPin as one of the top performers in the country in its categories.

TownPin has been nominated in:

• Best Customer Experience – Private Sector

• Best New Business Award (for businesses less than 2 years old)

Launched in March 2026 by Independent Louth County Councillor Ciarán Fisher, TownPin is a simple, free mobile and web app designed to help Dundalk residents report local issues quickly and efficiently. Users drop a pin on the map at the exact location of a problem — such as potholes, blocked drains, damaged footpaths, broken street lights, illegal dumping, graffiti, or overgrown vegetation — add a description and photo, and submit the report directly.

The app, available at www.townpin.ie and on the iOS App Store (and coming to the Android Store in the next month), has already begun delivering a more responsive, citizen-driven approach to local services in its pilot phase in Dundalk and Louth.

Commenting on the dual nomination, Cllr Ciarán Fisher said:

“I’m thrilled and honoured that TownPin has been recognised as a finalist in two categories at the Eir business Chambers Ireland Awards. These awards are a true benchmark of excellence in Irish business, and to be shortlisted as one of the best new ideas while also being acknowledged for customer experience so soon after launch is a tremendous achievement. It validates the real impact this app is having in making Dundalk a better place for everyone and I’m very grateful for the use and feedback of the people of Dundalk.

To be acknowledged at a national level so soon after launch is a huge honour and a testament to the power of community-focused innovation and I think it’s fair to say it has had a knock on effect on how we report things to Louth CoCo, which is now a very pro-active council on social media and it has since launched it’s Customer Hub for queries directly to council staff.”

Winners will be announced at a prestigious black-tie gala event on 26 June 2026 at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.

TownPin continues to operate in Dundalk and Louth. Now that its pilot has been a success, it has ambitions to expand to other towns seeking a modern, efficient way for residents to engage with local services.
